Configure Firewall Settings for Local Network

Summary: Whitelist the specific IP addresses and ports listed below to enable bridge data transmission via Ethernet or Wi-Fi.

What you need

  • Administrator access to the local network firewall or router.
  • IT Department contact (if you do not manage network security).

Instructions

  1. Verify connection type: Ignore this guide if the Bridge uses an LTE/4G connection. These settings apply only to bridges connected via Ethernet or Wi-Fi.
  2. Configure the Firewall: Access your network configuration panel. Whitelist the below IP addresses, ports, and protocols to allow traffic to the Sensorfact Cloud.
  3. Enable bi-directional traffic: Ensure the rules allow the bridge to download data. While the bridge primarily broadcasts (uploads) data, it requires download access for occasional Firmware Updates.
  4. Whitelist MAC Address (Optional): If your facility uses MAC filtering:
    1. Locate the MAC address printed on the bridge label.
    2. Contact Sensorfact Support if the label is unreadable or if you require a digital list.
    3. Add the MAC address to your network's allowed device list.

    If this doesn't work

    • Check the connection LED: Verify the bridge is powered and physically connected to the network.
    • Test with a Hotspot: Connect the bridge to a mobile hotspot. If data transmits successfully, the issue remains with the local firewall configuration.
