Select the Correct User Role for Team Members

Summary: Determine which of the four permission levels to assign to team members based on their operational responsibilities.

What you need

  • Administrator access to the platform.

  • The email addresses of the team members you intend to invite or edit.

Roles at a glance:

  • Admin
    This role has full access to all platform features. Intended for: Main users and project owners.

  • Manager
    This role has access to nearly all platform features, with a few restrictions (e.g., cannot create and edit users or use the Webshop). Intended for: Trusted users who do not hold executive-level decision-making rights.

  • Staff
    This role has a limited ability to modify settings or input values, but can view most data available in the platform. Intended for: Users who need the software for specific tasks, such as operators who explain stoppages or respond to alerts.

  • Read-only
    This role cannot edit any global settings that impact data or other users, but can still view most pages. Intended for: Guest users who should not be able to make any changes.
