Installation of the Power Meters

Find the requirements and a step-by-step guide for the installation of your power meters here. 

Installation requirements

Read the installation manual before starting the installation of the Power Meters.

Circuit breaker

To install the Power Meter, you need access to the voltage phases that power the asset.

  • A fused breaker box (6A) must be installed by a qualified Electrician.
  • Example of suitable breaker box: EMAT Power Group, 3 phases + Neutral, 6A fuse (EAN: 8718924262368).
  • This must be installed before the Power Meter setup.
  • The machine must be powered off before installation.

Power socket

  • The 24 V DC supply requires a 220–240 V AC socket within 1.5 m of the sensor location.
  • If unavailable, install one prior to setup.

The installation setup should be carried out by skilled personnel according to the following steps:

  1. Prepare for Installation: Match the power meter to the asset using the inventory list and ensure the machine is powered off.
  2. Mount the Main Box: Fix the power meter to a suitable surface using wall mounts. If possible, install it outside the electrical cabinet to prevent signal issues.
  3. Install Current Sensors: * With CT Clamps: Clean the metal parts and place them around each phase, ensuring the arrow points in the direction of the current, and close the snap closures securely.
    • With Rogowski Coils: Open the coil mechanism and place it around the cable, ensuring the arrow points in the direction of the current. Secure with cable ties.
    • Connect each sensor to the matching input on the main box.
  4. Connect Voltage Phases: * Ensure the breaker box is turned off.
    • Connect a short cable (maximum 3 m is recommended) from the breaker box to the voltage inputs on the sensor.
    • Switch the breaker box on to feed the voltage signal.
  5. Connect Power: * Connect the 24 V power supply to the main box and plug it into a 220–240 V AC socket. The screen will light up, and after a few minutes, data will appear on the online web application.
