Wrong or Inaccurate Pulse Data
Use this guide when no data is received, the value does not match the physical meter, or the measurement is irregular.
- Blue Sensorfact or Grey Pressac pulse counter
- Gas or water meter documentation
- Multimeter with continuity mode
- Sensorfact Web Platform login with installation editing permissions
- Wire strippers/screwdrivers
Check the device casing. Note whether you have a Blue Sensorfact or a Grey Pressac counter.
2. Wire the pulse counter:Connect your counter according to its specific hardware requirements:

Blue Sensorfact Counter:

Connect the two wires to O/C and GND terminals.

Keep the cable length under 2 meters.

Do not apply external voltage. Never connect external DC power while a battery is installed.

Press RESET after installing or replacing the battery.

Grey Pressac Counter:

Connect the two wires to O/C and GND terminals (polarity does not matter).

Set DIP switch 1 to ON to activate the battery.

Keep frequency settings default unless advised by support. If changed, press LEARN immediately.

Route the cable away from power cables, motor cables, frequency converters, relays, and contactors to prevent electrical interference.
4. Link counter to Bridge:Verify the pulse counter is within 10 meters of the Bridge, avoiding metal cabinets or reinforced walls. Confirm in the Sensorfact Platform that the Pulse Counter ID is assigned to the correct installation.
5. Configure pulse factor:Match the pulse value on the meter or its datasheet with the Pulse Factor field in the Sensorfact Platform. If using an external water meter pulse generator, adjust the Volume Coefficient using the generator's K-value.
6. Validate meter consumption reading:-
Record the current physical meter value.

Run gas or water through the line.

Record the updated physical meter value.

Compare the physical difference against the consumption reported in the Sensorfact Platform over the same timeframe.
Incorrect or irregular readings
- Consistent reading offset: Update the Pulse Factor in the platform to match the physical meter's output specification. Your onboarding representative can help you with this.
- Irregular or missing data: Check wires for corrosion, damage, or loose terminal screws. Relocate the Bridge closer to the counter if signal is weak.
Meter output testing
If the counter shows no activity while gas or water flows:
- Disconnect the pulse counter wires from the meter.
- Set a multimeter to Continuity or Resistance (Ohms) mode.
- Touch the multimeter probes across the two meter output terminals.
- Verify that the multimeter beeps or drops to 0 $\Omega$ each time the meter index rotates. If no signal occurs, the meter output is disabled, broken, or wired to incorrect terminals.
