Tracking Site Consumption and Generation
Monitor your site's total power usage alongside your solar production to manage grid limits and track self-sufficiency.
What it the Consumption & Generation page
The Consumption & Generation page is a real-time and historical dashboard that separates the electricity your factory consumes from the grid from the power your solar panels generate.

Why to use the Consumption & Generation page
Grid congestion and volatile energy prices require active balance. Use this page to see exactly when you rely on the grid, verify your solar asset performance, and see how much carbon emissions you are avoiding by self-generated energy.
How to use the Consumption & Generation page
To display accurate data, verify your setup:
- Confirm your Power Hierarchy is configured correctly; and
- Ensure your solar assets are marked as asset type 'Solar panels'.
Once configured, you will see the following insights:
- Total consumption: The total electricity used across your site, calculated via the Power Hierarchy. It is the sum of energy drawn from the grid and energy provided by your solar panels.
- From solar: The total energy generated by your solar panels. This includes all assets that are marked as Asset Type "Solar panels".
- From grid: The total consumed energy from the grid.
- Self-sufficiency: The share of your total energy consumption covered by your solar panels.
- CO2e avoided: Quantifies the net carbon reduction from your renewable generation. This is calculated by multiplying your solar consumption (kWh) by the difference between the grid and solar emission factors.
