# Sensorfact Copilot (Beta)

## Ask questions about your electricity data and get clear answers, savings ideas and summaries quicker.

Sensorfact Copilot is the AI assistant in the Sensorfact platform. You ask a question about your electricity use in your own words, and Copilot answers with figures from your own data. Use it to understand your consumption, find savings and prepare updates for your team.

### What is Copilot?

Copilot is a chat assistant that reads your electricity data in the Sensorfact platform. It looks up the figures it needs, does the calculations, and explains the result in text, bullet points and tables.

You can use Copilot in two places:

- The **Copilot** **page**, for longer conversations. Your chats are saved there, so you can continue them later.
- The **Copilot button and panel** on the **Power**, **Energy trends** and **Energy balance** dashboards. The panel is context aware: Copilot knows which page, assets and period you are looking at, so you can ask about them directly.

### Why use Copilot?

- **Explain a change.** Find out why consumption was higher last week, or what caused a peak.
- **Find savings.** See where energy is wasted outside operating hours or in standby, and what that costs you.
- **Track your targets.** Check how you are doing against your electricity targets.
- **Prepare a summary.** Turn your data into a short text you can share with your team or management.

### What you need

- An Energy Management subscription with electricity sensors. Copilot is switched on for all Energy Management customers.
- If your company does not want to use Copilot, contact your Sensorfact contact to switch it off.

### Step-by-Step Instructions

#### How to start a chat on the Copilot page

1. Click **Copilot** in the **main navigation bar**.
2. Type your question in the chat box, or click one of the quick-start cards. See *Quick-start cards* below.
3. Press **Enter** to send your question. Copilot shows its answer in the chat.
4. Ask a follow-up question in the same chat. Copilot remembers what you discussed earlier in that chat.

#### How to ask about the dashboard you are viewing

1. Open the **Power**, **Energy trends** or **Energy balance** dashboard.
2. Select the asset and period you want to ask about.
3. Click the **Copilot** in the **bottom-right corner** of the screen.
4. Type your question, for example "Why was consumption higher on Tuesday?". Copilot uses the asset, period and settings you have open.
5. To continue the conversation on the full page, you can open the chat on the **Copilot** page.

Tip: You can drag the panel to another place on the screen.

#### How to manage your chats

- To start a new conversation, click **New Chat**.
- To continue an earlier conversation, click it in the list on the left of the **Copilot** page.
- To rename or delete a chat, open the menu next to the chat in the list and choose **Rename** or **Delete chat**.

- To stop an answer while Copilot is writing it, click the stop button.
- To use an answer somewhere else, click the copy or download button under the answer, or download it in PDF.

### Quick-start cards

The quick-start cards on the **Copilot** page start a chat for a common task. When you click a card, Copilot writes the first message for you and answers it.

- **Understand my performance:** explains trends, unusual values and the causes of your consumption.
- **Identify savings:** shows where energy is wasted and what that costs you.
- **Track progress vs target:** shows how you are doing against your electricity targets.
- **Generate a report:** turns your data into a summary you can share with your team.
- **Get guided:** gives suggestions when you are not sure where to start.

### Example questions

- What was my total electricity consumption last month, and how does it compare to the month before?
- Which assets use the most energy outside operating hours?
- How much does standby consumption cost me per year?
- Why was there a power peak yesterday afternoon?
- What are the biggest savings opportunities on my site?
- How much CO2e did we emit this quarter?
- Am I on track to reach my electricity target this year?
- Write a short summary of last month's energy use for my management team.

### What data Copilot uses

Copilot uses your electricity data only:

- Power and energy consumption of your assets.
- Consumption outside operating hours and standby consumption.
- CO2e emissions and energy costs. Costs use the currency in your settings.
- The results of your most recent energy scan.

For now, Copilot does not use data from gas, water, compressed air, predictive maintenance or OEE. 

### Good to know

- Copilot shows this message under its answers: "**AI-generated answers may not always be accurate. Check important information.**" Check important figures in your dashboards before you share them or make decisions with them.
- Copilot gives insights only. It cannot change settings, create alerts or edit assets.

### Troubleshooting

#### *I see "Copilot is not enabled for your account"*

Copilot is switched off for your company. Contact your Sensorfact contact to switch it on.

#### *I cannot find the Copilot button*

The **Copilot** button is only on the **Power**, **Energy trends** and **Energy balance** dashboards. On other pages, click **Copilot** in the main navigation.

#### *Copilot cannot answer my question about gas, water or compressed air*

Copilot uses electricity data only. See *What data Copilot uses* above.

#### *The answer does not match my dashboard*

Ask Copilot which period, assets and unit it used. Then compare with the same selection in your dashboard. If the answer is still wrong, click thumbs down under the answer, so we can look at it.

#### *A chat stopped or does not respond*

Click **New Chat** and ask your question again. If this happens often, contact your Sensorfact contact.
