# Navigate the Electricity section tabs

## Summary: A complete overview of the Power, Energy, Balance, and Power Quality tabs to help you monitor real-time usage, efficiency trends, and grid stability.

Our platform offers flexible tools to help you analyse energy consumption across your facility. You can select individual machines or entire groups and customise your view to focus on what matters most.

### **Power Tab (kW)**

The Power tab displays real-time electricity consumption, showing exactly when your equipment is running and how much power it draws. This view helps identify operational patterns and detect anomalies in power usage.

**Key Features:**

- Time-series graph showing power consumption in kilowatts
- Visibility of power spikes and standby periods
- Total and mean power values for the selected period - click on the "Display" button

**How to Use:**

- Monitor peak power demand throughout the day for a single machine or select all to monitor your total power demand
- Identify equipment running outside scheduled hours
- Detect abnormal consumption patterns

### **Energy Tab (kWh)**

The Energy tab provides a comprehensive view of your total electricity consumption over time. This helps you understand overall usage patterns and track the effectiveness of energy-saving initiatives.

**Key Features:**

- Daily/periodic energy usage totals in kilowatt-hours, euros or CO₂
- Comparative view across different time periods
- Total and mean energy consumption calculations - click on the "Display" button

**How to Use:**

- Compare energy usage between different days or weeks
- Identify high-consumption periods
- Verify energy bills against actual consumption data

### **Energy Balance Tab**

The Energy Balance tab breaks down energy consumption by equipment, showing you exactly which machines are using the most power. This information is crucial for targeting energy efficiency improvements.

**Key Features:**

- Proportional breakdown of energy usage by device
- Total consumption displayed as pie chart
- Data can be additionally viewed as a table - click on the "Display" button

**How to Use:**

- Identify energy-intensive equipment
- Prioritise machines for efficiency upgrades
- Understand the distribution of energy usage across your facility

### **Power Quality tab**

The Power Quality tab gives you detailed (real-time) insights into the quality of your electricity supply and the performance of your assets. By monitoring key electrical parameters, you can detect irregularities, identify inefficiencies and potential issues.

Only assets that are measured by a Power Meter are visible in the Power Quality tab.

**Key Features**:

- Power: Visualize power consumption trends using: 
    - Active power (kW) – the power actually used by equipment
    - Reactive power (kVAr) – power required to sustain magnetic fields
    - Apparent power (kVA) – the total power supplied to the system
- Voltage: Monitor voltage levels to detect dips, surges, or instability in the power supply. 
    - Average voltage is calculated as: 
          - Line-to-line voltage: (U12 + U23 + U31) / 3
          - Line-to-neutral voltage: (U1N + U2N + U3N) / 3
    - Voltage per phase is available for 
          - Line-to-line voltage
          - Line-to-neutral voltage

- Current: Track total current to identify abnormal equipment behavior or overloading. Current can be displayed as: 
    - Average current: This represents the equivalent three-phase current and is calculated as: *S / (√3 · VLL,avg),* where S is Apparent Power.

- - Current per phase: Shows the measured current for each individual phase.

- Power Factor: Monitor the efficiency of electricity usage to uncover opportunities for optimisation. Do note: When active power is close to zero (e.g. during standby), small measurement variations have a large impact on the power factor calculation, which can cause fluctuating or unexpected values.

**How to Use**:

- Select one or more assets from the list to view their power quality metrics
- Adjust the date range to analyse performance over specific periods
- Compare patterns in power, voltage, current, and power factor to detect anomalies
