Energy per Unit in Sensorfact Copilot (Beta)
Ask Sensorfact Copilot for your energy, cost and CO2e per unit produced, with the same figures as the Energy Per Unit pages.
ℹ️ Sensorfact Copilot is in beta. We are still improving it, so features and answers can change. Use the thumbs up and thumbs down under each answer to tell us what works and what does not.
Sensorfact Copilot can calculate your energy per unit. You ask in your own words, and Sensorfact Copilot runs the same calculation as the Energy Per Unit pages in the platform. So the figures in the chat are the same as the figures on those pages.
What is energy per unit in Sensorfact Copilot?
Energy per unit compares the energy that your assets use with the number of units that you produce. For the period you choose, Sensorfact Copilot gives:
- Energy per unit, in kWh.
- Cost per unit, in the currency of your platform settings.
- CO2e per unit, in kg CO2e.
Sensorfact Copilot also gives the totals for the period: units produced, energy, cost and CO2e, with the split between electricity and gas. It also shows the share of the energy for each asset.
Sensorfact Copilot uses the energy per unit configurations that you save in the platform. A configuration contains three things:
- Assets: the electricity assets, and the gas assets if you have them, that serve this product. Each asset has a contribution percentage.
- Production: the number of units produced. This number comes from one of three sources: a number that you enter, OEE counters with a conversion ratio, or the daily or monthly production that you enter in the platform.
- Period: the dates for the energy and for the production.
You can also ask Sensorfact Copilot for a one-off calculation, without a saved configuration. See How to make a one-off calculation below.
Why use energy per unit in Sensorfact Copilot?
- Find your least efficient period. See which day, week or month used the most energy per unit.
- Follow your target. See how far above or below your energy per unit target you are.
- Find the assets that matter most. See which assets use the largest share of the energy for a product.
- Test a scenario. See the cost per unit for a different period or a different number of units, without changing your saved configuration.
- Prepare a summary. Get the energy per unit figures as text that you can share with your team or management.
What you need
- Sensorfact Copilot switched on for your company.
- Production data for the period: OEE counters, production entries in the platform, or a number that you give to Sensorfact Copilot.
Step-by-Step Instructions
How to see your configurations
- Click Copilot in the main navigation.
- Ask "Which energy per unit configurations do I have?".
- Sensorfact Copilot shows the name, the unit and the target of each configuration.
How to track an energy efficiency KPI over time
- Click Copilot in the main navigation.
- Ask for the KPI by its name, and give a period. For example: "Show the energy per unit for Line 2 by week for the last quarter."
- Sensorfact Copilot shows the totals, the figures per unit, the result for each day, week or month, and the difference from your target.
- Ask a follow-up question in the same chat. For example: "Which week was the least efficient, and which asset used the most energy that week?"
How to run a saved calculation
- Click Copilot in the main navigation.
- Ask for the calculation by its name. For example: "What is the energy per unit of my calculation Packaging Q3?"
- Sensorfact Copilot runs the calculation over the saved dates, with the latest data.
How to make a one-off calculation
- Click Copilot in the main navigation.
- Give Sensorfact Copilot the assets, the contribution percentage of each asset, the period and the number of units. For example: "Calculate the energy per unit for Press 1 at 100% and Compressor 2 at 40%, from 1 to 31 October, for 8,500 units."
- Sensorfact Copilot calculates the energy, cost and CO2e per unit for these settings.
You can also start from a saved configuration and change one thing. For example: "Run Line 2 for October with 12,000 units." Sensorfact Copilot uses the new values for this answer only. Your saved configuration does not change.
Example questions
- Which energy per unit configurations do I have?
- What was the energy per unit for Line 2 last month, compared to the target?
- Which week in the last quarter was the least efficient for Line 2?
- Which asset uses the most energy in my Packaging configuration?
- How did the cost per unit change between September and October?
- What is the CO2e per unit for Line 2 this year?
- What is the cost per unit for Line 2 if we produced 12,000 units in October?
Good to know
- Sensorfact Copilot shows this message under its answers: "AI-generated answers may not always be accurate. Check important information." Compare important figures with the Energy Per Unit pages before you share them or make decisions with them.
- Sensorfact Copilot reads and runs your configurations. It cannot create, change or save a configuration, and it cannot save a calculation. To do this, go to Electricity > Energy Per Unit.
- If no production was recorded in the period, Sensorfact Copilot cannot give figures per unit. It tells you that the figures are not available.
Troubleshooting
The figure in Sensorfact Copilot is different from the overview of my saved calculation
The overview shows the result from the moment that you saved the calculation. Sensorfact Copilot calculates again with the latest data. If production entries, OEE counts or measurements changed after you saved, the two figures are different. The figure in Sensorfact Copilot uses the latest data.
Sensorfact Copilot cannot find my configuration
Ask "Which energy per unit configurations do I have?" and use the name exactly as Sensorfact Copilot shows it. Make sure that you selected the correct company in the platform. Sensorfact Copilot cannot see deleted configurations.
Sensorfact Copilot gives no figures per unit
No production was recorded for this period. Look at the production entries or the OEE counters for the period on the Energy Per Unit pages. Add the missing production, or ask again for a period with production.
I want to save the calculation that Sensorfact Copilot made
Sensorfact Copilot cannot save calculations. Create the calculation in Electricity > Energy Per Unit, with the same assets, contribution percentages, period and number of units.
The answer is different from the Energy Per Unit pages
Ask Sensorfact Copilot which configuration, period and production source it used. Then compare with the same selection on the Energy Per Unit pages. If the answer is still different, click thumbs down under the answer and contact us, so we can look at it.
