[Energy Management](https://support.sensorfact.eu/knowledge/hardware-installation?hsLang=en#energy-management) # Energy bridge technical specifications ## Summary: This article explains how the energy bridge functions as a gateway to collect wireless sensor data and transmit it to the Sensorfact cloud. ### **Hardware information:** - Bridge, including: - 3 Antennas - 5V Power adapter --- ### **Technical specifications:** 1. **Data collection:** The bridge acts as a local gateway, receiving wireless data from sensors via the EnOcean protocol. Collected data is stored locally on the bridge temporarily before being uploaded to the cloud. 2. **Signal range:** The device maintains a wireless reception radius of up to 10 meters with a clear line of sight — obstructions such as walls, large machinery, metal fencing, or cabinets will reduce this. As a general rule, plan for one bridge per 5 sensors. 3. **Connectivity options:** - **Ethernet:** Wired connection via the Ethernet port. Requires network authorization for data transmission. - **Wi-Fi:** Wireless connection via pre-configured credentials. Requires network authorization. - **Mobile (4G):** Integrated SIM card for cellular data. This is a paid service activated by Sensorfact. 4. **Status monitoring:** The onboard LED light provides real-time diagnostics of the current connection and power status. Reducing the distance below 10 meters often stabilizes the EnOcean signal. - **Network firewall issues:** Ensure the IT department has whitelisted the bridge MAC address to allow outbound data traffic on Ethernet or Wi-Fi ports.
