Sensorfact has already configured your bridges if you have shared your WiFi-credentials upfront the hardware shipment. Before configuring your bridges, ensure your ports and firewalls have been configured.
To configure your bridges, you need the following:
- PC or Laptop
- Sensorfact Bridges
- A USB flash drive (FAT32 formatted), preferably blank
- Network name (SSID) and password
Configuration steps
Step 1. Upload network credentials to USB flash drive
- Create a new .txt file with notepad, named 'wifi.txt'.
- In this file, add the Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password
- Example network name;password
- Separate SSID and password by a semicolon (“;”)
- SSID and password both are case sensitive
- Do not add extra spaces before or after the SSID or password
- Example network name;password
- Save file on USB flash drive
Step 2. Configure your Sensorfact bridges
- Insert the USB flash drive into the bridge
- Wait for a 30+ seconds
- Remove the USB flash drive from the bridge
After configuring your first bridge, check whether configuration was successful (step 3).
Then repeat step 2 for all bridges.
Step 3. Check the configuration
1. Check files on the USB flash drive on a computer
If the configuration went well, you will see a new file named 'mac-addresses-XXXX.txt'. The XXXX are the 4 characters of the bridge ID and thus vary from bridge to bridge. An example is: 'mac-addresses-82DF.txt'.’ If needed, these MAC-addresses can be used to register the bridges to your network.
In case you don’t see this .txt file, initiate step 2 again. Ensure the USB flash drive is inserted substantially longer than 30 seconds.
2. Check if the bridge can connect to the Sensorfact Platform, following these instructions.
